Food and thoughts

Moosewood recipes and thoughts:
  • Tunisian Potato Turnovers - didn't like working with the filo pastry, but all-in-all a nice new taste for us and sweet potatoes
  • Pasta with Chickpeas - decent. I love having fun pasta recipes that don't involve melted cheese. Andrew commented that it was a nice switch on red sauce. Loved using rosemary sprigs.
  • Cinnamon Apple Crepes - I like my own current crepe recipe better, and the filling wasn't terribly exciting. It was okay.
Need to use my mangoes and avocados this week. I think I'll try their guac- with the beans and quinoa salad I already love and maybe that mango cucumber salad.

Normally I am anti cookbook-without-photos, but these recipes are hitting the spot; and being able to make something that is good for us, isn't necessarily soy-based, while keeping Andrew's/my energy and health up brings a responsible and fun feeling to these new adventures in cooking.
